Editorial Standards & Methodology

• ICC Publications: UCP 600 (documentary credits), ISBP 745 (LC examination practice), URDG 758 (demand guarantees), URC 522 (documentary collections), and Incoterms® 2020.
• WCO Harmonized System 2022 for HS classification, including WCO GRI 1–6.
• National customs tariffs for duty rates (EU TARIC, US HTSUS, UK Global Tariff, India ICEGATE) - always with the date-of-source disclosed.
• SWIFT Standards MT/MX for messaging field references (MT700, MT760, MT799).
• OpenSanctions for sanctions and PEP screening (Consolidated OFAC SDN, EU Consolidated List, UN Security Council, HMT UK).

• Day-count conventions. ACT/360 is applied to USD, EUR, CHF, CNY, HKD and SAR. ACT/365 is applied to GBP, JPY, SGD, AUD, CAD and INR. Rounding follows each currency's minor unit and banking convention.
• UCP 600 tolerances. "About" per Art. 30(a) is applied as ±10%. Currency amount tolerance is ±5% per Art. 30(b). Non-documentary conditions are flagged per Art. 14(h).
• Incoterms® 2020. Cost and risk transfer points, the insurance level (Institute Cargo Clauses A vs C), and carriage obligations follow the 2020 rules verbatim.
• No hidden inputs. Every fee, tolerance, and rate used in a result is either an input you provided or is disclosed in the tool's methodology footer.

• Annual review of all tools and reference guides in January following the WCO HS annual amendment cycle and any ICC banking commission opinions published that year.
• Event-driven revisions when a governing rule set changes: ICC Uniform Rules updates, WCO HS amendments, IMO safety regulations affecting shipping (e.g. IMO 2020, IMSBC Code), and major FTA changes.
• Every published page carries a last-reviewed date and, where relevant, a byline identifying the reviewer's expertise.

If you find a calculation error, a rule misreading, an out-of-date tariff, or a broken source citation, please write to us via the contact page. We publish material corrections with a dated note on the affected page. Non-material typos are fixed silently.

• SSLT Global is reader-supported. We display unobtrusive display ads and, where relevant, affiliate links to trade-document generators and inspection agencies. Affiliate relationships never influence which rule sets we cite or how a calculation is built.
• We do not accept sponsored content, paid placements inside guides, or paid backlinks.
• We are not a bank, broker, licensed customs agent, or legal advisor. Our tools are educational and computational aids. For an operative LC, tariff classification, or shipment, verify with your bank, licensed broker, or counsel of record.

Every calculation runs in your browser. Inputs are encoded into the shareable URL so you can send a result to a bank or customer, but nothing is stored server-side by default. Signed-in users may explicitly save calculations to their account; those rows are stored under row-level security scoped to their user ID and are deletable at any time from My calculations.
