CPT (Carriage Paid To) is one of the 11 rules published by the ICC in Incoterms® 2020. Risk passes when goods handed to first carrier at origin. Insurance is not an obligation under CPT - the buyer decides.

Watch outs
- Same risk-freight gap as CFR but for any mode. Buyer should insure from first carrier handover.

Suitable for multimodal/air LC. Transport doc may be multimodal BL or AWB - specify in Field 46A.
