Financial & Compliance Instrument Templates
Before a bank issues an MT700 LC or SBLC, both sides typically exchange bank-comfort and end-use compliance documents. Use these templates to move from LOI to instrument issuance without back-and-forth.
A Proof of Funds (POF) confirms the buyer's cash or credit line, an RWA letter states the buyer's bank is ready, willing and able to open the payment instrument, and an End User Certificate (EUC) satisfies the seller's compliance and export-control obligations - especially for fuels, chemicals and dual-use goods.
Every draft is aligned with UCP 600, URDG 758 (for demand guarantees) and standard sanctions-screening language. Adapt the issuing bank block and end-use statement for your commodity, port and jurisdiction.

Frequently asked questions
Is a POF or RWA enough to issue an LC?
No. POF and RWA give the seller comfort that the buyer can pay. The LC itself is issued by the buyer's bank on MT700 once the SPA is signed and the LC application is approved.
Do sellers really ask for an EUC?
Yes, especially for petroleum products, base metals, chemicals and defence-related goods. The EUC certifies the end user and end use, which the seller needs for export licensing and sanctions screening.
Can bank comfort documents be issued by non-bank institutions?
POF can come from a private bank, family office or trustee. RWA must come from a licensed financial institution that can actually open the payment instrument.
