Jet A is used only in the US - freeze point max -40degC. Jet A-1 is global - freeze point max -47degC. Both are ~99% identical otherwise. Cross-border international aviation uses Jet A-1.

What is SAF?

Sustainable Aviation Fuel - synthetic paraffinic kerosene from HEFA (hydroprocessed esters and fatty acids), ATJ (alcohol-to-jet), FT-SPK (Fischer-Tropsch), or PtL (Power-to-Liquid). ASTM D7566 certifies drop-in blends up to 50% (some pathways). Same HS code as Jet A-1 when blended.
