MT700 / Letter of Credit Field Extractor
Paste or upload a SWIFT MT700 your advising bank sent. The extractor splits it into tagged fields, pulls the terms that drive compliance, and flags workability problems such as an expiry that falls before the presentation period ends. Scanned PDFs and photos are transcribed with AI-grade OCR (sign-in required).
Every field is scored for extraction confidence; highlighted spans show the exact characters each field was parsed from. Parsing runs entirely in your browser - the pasted credit text is never uploaded. Upload a scanned LC above to transcribe it with Gemini OCR first. Keep the leading colons (`:31D:`) so field boundaries are detected correctly.

Workability checks
- 15 days between latest shipment and expiry; the presentation period is 15 days.
- Field 49 is WITHOUT — the advising bank adds no confirmation, so you carry issuing-bank and country risk.
- Field 71B places charges outside the issuing country on the beneficiary — price these into your margin.
- Transhipment prohibited (43T) — note UCP 600 Art. 20(c) still permits it for containerised cargo on a single B/L.

Overview & methodology
What to check the moment an MT700 arrives
The first read of a documentary credit is a workability test, not a document check. Compare the latest shipment date in field 44C with the expiry in 31D: if the gap is shorter than the presentation period in field 48 - or the 21 calendar days UCP 600 Art. 14(c) imposes when 48 is silent - you can ship on time and still be unable to present. Confirm the amount and tolerance in 32B/39A cover your contract quantity, that field 49 matches the confirmation you negotiated, and that the documents listed in 46A are ones you can actually obtain within the window. Anything that fails these tests needs an amendment before you commit vessel space.
Frequently asked questions
What does the MT700 field extractor do?
It splits a pasted SWIFT MT700 into its tagged fields (20, 31D, 32B, 41A/41D, 44C, 46A, 47A, 48, 49, 71B and the rest), pulls the key commercial terms into a summary table, and runs workability checks such as whether the expiry date leaves enough time for the presentation period. Everything runs in your browser - the credit text is never uploaded.
What if field 48 (period for presentation) is missing?
UCP 600 Article 14(c) applies a default of 21 calendar days after the date of shipment, and in every case presentation must be made no later than the expiry date in field 31D. The extractor flags a missing field 48 and compares the 44C latest shipment date with 31D so you can see whether the window is workable.
